A December Afternoon at Forrest

If you are visiting Forrest then make sure that you fill the bird baths with water. In the morning and evenings birds will come and visit to get water. Depending on the time of year different birds will be around.

In summer the birds will start calling around 5:30 am and be active until it starts to get hot. They will be in the rainforest for most of the day. Once it begins to cool off around 5 pm the birds will again come looking for water until it starts to get dark.

There are a huge variety of birds in the rainforest around Forrest.

Set up your chairs facing the bird baths and be quiet. Sudden movements and noise will startle the birds and send them away.

In the evening get your favourite cocktail and watch the show.

Watch out for other visitors like Monitor Lizards, Green Tree Snakes, Swamp Wallabies, antechinus (type of marsupial mouse) and much more.
