Short Term Rental Accommodation Register (STRA) only applies to residential accommodation such as houses, units and terraces. You do not need to register a caravan, tent or moveable dwelling. The registration number is unique to a property and is renewed annually.
Completed STRA registrations will be issued with a STRA Property ID number, for Forrest it is PID-STRA-14043, which is to be displayed on an online property listing.
All hosts must comply with the new fire and safety requirements and agree to follow the code of conduct before their registration is completed.
The purpose of this is to make short term rental properties safer for all. The property must comply with certain requirements such as:
Fire extinguisher that are of an approved standard.
Fire and heat alarms that are of an approved standard.
At Forrest we had a local fire specialist (ESP Fire) check the property and install the correct fire alarm and equipment for the size and type of property.
We are always looking for suggestions so please don't hesitate to leave a message and let us know if you find any issues.
